Peldon Harvest

Peldon Harvest weekend in September started on the Saturday morning with the tower open, refreshments available and many harvest flowers and arrangements on display. Some children from Langenhoe school came in with gifts for the Night Shelter, which earn’t them a free trip up the tower!

On the Saturday evening we had the traditional Harvest Supper in the church, with a superb hot meal, marvellous desserts (and seconds) and drink, stories and songs. Dr. Rhona read the ‘Church Mouse’ poem by Betjeman and there were stories by Bill. We ate a lot and shifted some off the alcohol we seem to have accumulated.

On the Sunday there was a traditional Harvest Festival Service. By now the food offerings were piling up nicely with a large table heaving with all manner of fresh, tinned and cartoned food, which was delivered to the Night Shelter on the Monday.

Many thanks to everybody that took part – in every way, shape or form.
