L33 wreckage

Looking for Local History or Zeppelin enthusiasts!

We have a very, VERY special event to commemorate this year! It will be the 100th anniversary of the crash landing of German Zeppelin L33 in Little Wigborough on 24th September 1916. To mark the occasion there will be a special event on 24 September at 2 pm – 8 pm, and 25 September at 12 noon – 4 pm.

This photo above shows Zeppelin L33. The German crew all survived the landing, and set fire to the wreckage to destroy any technical details that the British might learn from. The photo below is the wreckage after the fire.

The German crew made their way along the lane and…..well, we’re not going to tell it all now – come along to the event and see for yourself what happened and where, and who was involved.

This will be a joint Peldon/Wigboroughs event – so let’s make it very special. Put the dates into your diary, NOW!

Please get in touch if you are interested in planning, helping or contributing ideas for the event. Also do you have any Zeppelin memorabilia?
